Blog City Prompt: Do you believe in angels? Angels are entities that do not exist in our three-dimensional reality. Angels exist mostly through faith. Our civilization abounds with literature and images of angels. I believe that they were revered even before the era of christian beliefs. I don't know where the idea of angels having wings came from. It certainly has created some beautiful art work and sculpture. Physical wings on a human sized body are at best awkward. If you've ever shepherded a group of first-grade angels for the Christmas pageant, you know it can lead to chaos. Take away the word 'angel' and what do you have? Is it a Guardian? Is it some kind of protector or gentle companion that watches us struggle so painfully through life's challenges? A thousand stories will decide something different. If you believe, it is a comfort.
