The Cold





Aachoo Aachoo sniffle snuffle


Red nose, swollen eyes, aachoo!


Sniffle, snuffle, snort, blow


Snug under covers


A moments rest


Then it starts


Again


Aaaaaaaaaaa…..





Choooooooooo


Sniffle


Stretch, reach, pull


Tissues explode


Littering the floor


Flip the covers over head


Might as well give up the fight


The little germ sharers have won!






The Octet is an octastitch, a poem in 8 lines, syllabic- 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 syllables per line and is unrhymed. Variations, can be written as a mirror, or reversed.
