Herein Lies A Heron
Sister of Cygnus,
Serenely sitting in the swamp,
Says to Daedalus, the air
and the sky are free no longer
for escape can be checked.

Temporarily trapped
in the mosquito’s dwelling place-
Abiding the dwindling days
‘til time becomes cool.

Your annual departure and return
nurtures blue affection and expectation.
My lens in no longer clouded.
Waldo, have I become a transparent eye?
