Haiku String
Seven Las Vegas Haikus

listen to the wind
howling through Las Vegas streets
empty cans rattle

a pigeon cooing
nesting in a tall palm tree
another day dawns

charcoal briquettes glow
huge raindrops strike hard packed soil
lightning thunder rolls

oak tree cast its shade
across the stone paved courtyard
home to the sparrows

a chill in the air
snow covers Mount Charleston
leaves dance in the wind

white sheets on the line
monsoon season clouds threaten
Las Vegas swelters

predawn thunderstorm
raindrops fall asphalt glistens
somewhere a dog barks

Line Count: 21
Form: Haiku string consists of several haiku strung together each with a syllable count of 5/7/5.
