Historical Works Of Fiction,Cities
Blog City Prompt: Why are works of historical fiction so popular with today's readers? What appeals to you about these type of books?

I am a big Jane Austen Fan and fan of Medieval times. I was born in the wrong era. I love reading romances from this time. I like to think I am a Princess or a woman of Jane Austen times. I am fascinated with the past so I read any historical fiction I can find. Maybe others share my views and this is why they read Historical fiction. Maybe I have lived before. I have often wondered that. Historical fiction, take me back to the past.

BCOF Prompt: Think about three cities you have lived in and write about what is happening in these cities right now. Make it real.

I lived by Nashville, Tennessee, ten minutes away in my early teens. Nashville. The series "Nashville" is being filmed right now. Keith Urban is recording a CD there. Three new country singing stars have just signed a contract. It is raining there. The Grand Ole Opry is preparing for a concert. Miranda Lambert just pushed Blake in a big mud puddle and he hurt his ankle. Go Miranda. Carrie Underwood is doing a special about saving animals. Luke Bryant is with her helping. Alice Cooper is doing a concert there tonight at a plaza. Who says Nashville just does country music?

I live two and a half hours from Chicago. People are shopping. Traffic is terrible. Someone is probably getting robbed. Some people are at the Art Galley, museum, antique stores and there is a shoot going on for a clothing line with beautiful fashion models. The police are arresting people. Chicago has a high crime rate. Some people are at Lake Michigan enjoying the last days of summer. A lot of cats and dogs got new homes.

Washington, D.C. My parents and I lived by there for four years when I was six years through ten years. Congress and the Senate are busy making good laws I hope. They have done enough damage along with the President. People are enjoying the beautiful sights there. Too bad our leaders aren't as beautiful. The Treasury is making money. They can send some my way. FBI is probably having a busy day. The Pope just visited recently. Arlington Cemetery has just changed guards. Someone tried to sneak into the White House again. A good day in Washington, D.C.
