Soldiers
Soldiers fight wars and where would be
without them? They keep us safe as they
fight the war. Firing guns, flying airplanes
and helicopters. Are we still at war? With
Isis on the loose? Yes, I think we are.

Soldiers write the songs that soldiers
sing. The songs you and I won't sing.
What
are they you ask? I assume they are about peace
and what happens during battles of war and winning?

I remember Viet Nam. I was ten years old when my
father first went there. I had a Vietmanese friend.
Was she now my enemy? No. She was adopted by my
mother's friends. Her "Dad" had been a soldier, too.

Do you hear what I think I'm hearing? Do you see
the signs I think I see?
We still have troops in
the middle east. I say a prayer and am thankful for
military soldiers. We will be electing a new President
and let's hope for a better, more peaceful world.
