I have a Facebook account, twitter account, and Writing.com. I can get some family news on Facebook and keep up with local garage sale ads there. Twitter I don't use, I often say I need to stop at twitter today then don't get it done, and constantly threaten to dump both my Facebook and twitter accounts. WDC takes up my allotted computer time. Plus, I like WDC's approach to writing and social interaction.

Social networking is important in some ways and a pain in others. It's just like life, some good points and bad points depending on the society with which you are involved. Also, depends on what you look for in social connections.
