An extract from the story 'WISDOM AND CINEMA TICKETS.'
The two friends were oblivious to what was going on between their families. Kate wanted go to the pictures, and
She wanted Nancy to go with her. She had two shillings from her parents for pocket money. Nancy couldn't go because she had no money. She spent her pocket money on Saturday at the walk. Kate had an idea. The first Twenty were allowed in for four pence. If they went early and queued they would have enough to get in.

"That will only be eight pence and we can have chips on the way home.
