Backpacking Europe: Day 12

I looked at the apartment and gasp
I always wanted a room with a view
of something other then my neighborhood
apartments, buildings, or trees
that would fire my imagination.

I looked out the window of the room and swear that I saw an alien face looking at me from one of the trees. The race resembled that of a gray with tree limbs and leaves surrounding it. It looked like a gray alien with green hair. Alright, maybe I need four or five more cups of strong black coffee with grounds in the bottom of the cup. Another possibility, which I rejected right away, is that I need a bit more sleep. I'm on vacation! Vacations and sleep are not compatible. I like both the kitchen and the bathrooms because they were small. I have a small kitchen and bathroom at home. Being single, I would rather have a kitchen or bathroom big enough for only one person.

I wanted to stand outside the Basilica and just gaze at the exquisite architecture. I could stay outside gazing in awe at the Basilica, I had to go inside to see the mosaics, the inside of the domes, and the Byzantine icon of St Michael. The mosaic I like best was the one portraying Saint Mark. My favorite dome was the one with Pentecost and the angels.
