The Character of God - December 12

Today, let's look at the immutable, steadfast, dependable character of God... You can count on Him; His love for you never varies in the slightest degree----no matter what.

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. ~Malachi 3:6

…Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.… ~James 1:16-18

You certainly can't say that about most people..., even yourself. And if you can say that about anyone, it is because those persons truly, sincerely and consistently walk with God. Many of us just aren't that dedicated, unfortunately.

If you want that immutable, steadfast and dependable character of God, you must press into Him frequently and consistently because it is only to the degree we relinquish ourselves (control) to Him and by the Power of His Holy Spirit that we are becoming more and more like Him.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn, and weep. Turn your laughter to mourning, and your joy to gloom.… ~James 4:7-9

Finally and resolutely, let us "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." ~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Oh, how He loves us...
