Light in the Darkness

Light in the Darkness:
To the Blessed Beauty

"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

He was the light
shining in the Black Pit1,
weighed down
by Qará-Guhar and Salásil2.

While chained
in the darkness
of the Siyah-Chal
He received
His mission from God.

Baha'u'llah
entered the dungeon of Tehran
an adherent of the Bab,
He left
as Him Whom God Will Make Manifest3
the Supreme Manifestation of God.
