This is a typical story that enhances the sport most valued in Uruguay. Uruguayans are drawn together socially by their love of the game of football (soccer).

On our tours we saw many restored stately mansions that were turned into libraries, book stores, and historical markers intertwined with modern buildings rising high into the air.

From the top of the lighthouse we could see Buenois Aires on a clear day. "The name Uruguay means "River of the colorful birds." It is a word in Guarani that was spoken by the natives of the area". Reference:http://wikitravel.org/en/Uruguay.

Historically the country has been fought over by Brazil and Argentina. Maintaining their personal freedom they have become a democracy. One of the points of strength is the free education they offer to their citizens.

Although, there is crime, it is the lowest in Uruguay as anywhere in South America. It was a very peaceful and informative day. Our guides were especially friendly and informative about the sites.
