Memories of Autumn
Leaves falling from a cottonwood tree,
snow clouds gathering foretelling the year's first snow,
the scent of burning leaves,
the crunch of leaves under my feet,
and poems I write about chilly autumn mornings.
The scent of mothballs on a wool sweater,
the aroma of pumpkin pie baking,
the taste of candy corn,
all these remind me of fall.
