Eyewitness

I saw Him walking then,
         with fishermen in Galilee.
He told of wonders to the end,
and His laugh was oh so free.

He changed water into wine,
to please a poor man's company.
I saw Him walking one wretched night,
         upon a troubled sea.

This was more than a man,
that walked with me - in Galilee.

He raised Lazarus from the dead,
by the Spirit of the Lord.
Unbound his hands, feet, and head,
         as emotions soared.

A blind man saw because of Him,
another walked who had been lame.
The bedeviled man was freed,
when his demons this man tamed.

This was more than a man
that walked with me - in Galilee.

And when the rabble cried for blood,
I saw Him nailed to a tree.
He showed how brave a man could die,
a man of men was He.

We men who never weep,
         wept that day at Calvary.
He told of wonders to the end,
and His laugh was oh so free.

This was more than a man
that walked with me - in Galilee.
