New Year's Eve 2017
Jamál (Beauty) 2 Sharaf (Honor) 174 B.E. - Sunday, December 31, 2017

It is New Year's Eve 2017, and I have managed to either write or read without playing any type of online solitaire game. I hope to continue this record for the rest of Sunday and into Monday, January 1, 2018. I admit to Googling solitaire earlier today; however, instead of playing the game I went to BahaiTeaching.org1 and read the article "Am I a Racist?"2 by Chris Kavelin. I hope to continue writing, reading, and reviewing the rest of the day, and take it up again on New Year's Day 2018. As much as I enjoy the solitaire games, they interfere with writing and reviewing. Since I have established eighteen goals for 2018, I cannot afford to let computer or online games distract me.

My goals for 2018 can be found in "Melting Snow "18 for 2018 and Hope for the New Year. I am not sure whether I can accomplish all of them in 2018 or not, the one thing I am sure of is that I have to attempt to accomplish them. I do not know what 2018 will bring, I can only place trust in the Almighty, and attempt to accomplish my goals while also proclaiming Baha'u'llah's name. I do know that worrying about whether or not I can accomplish them will curtail my efforts to accomplish any of the goals I have established.

Writing for January 1-6, 2018

*BulletBr* "Invalid Item write an essay, poem, or article about Paraguay (founder member of the UN on 24th October 1945).
*BulletGr* "I Write in 2018 Week 1: January 1 - 7 enter contest and review entry on "I Write in 2018 forum.
*BulletO* E-mail "Project Write World Team USA participants to find out what their writing preferences are.
*BulletP* Write blog entries in response to "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS.
*BulletB* Determine the items I begin in 2017 that I need to finish in 2018.
*BulletG* Post Monday and Friday to "Weekly Goals.
*BulletR* Review the eighteen goals to see what is plausible and achievable.
*BulletV* Review at least 7 items written by other writers focusing on needs of my upcoming edition of the fantasy newsletter.
*Bullet* Begin cleaning off computer desk.

The question now arises, "How do I keep track of my goals?" I suspect the best was is an individual document rather than entries in one of my journals. I still have to decide if I want to keep it month by month or for the entire year. I suspect it would be easier keeping it month by month. I could still change my mind and keep it in one of my journals. I will decide for sure on January 1, 2018, how I will keep track of my 2018 goals.
