Ground Hog Day With Phil

We all know Phil the ground hog,
Do you think he could see his shadow in the fog?
He sees his shadow. Oh no! Six more weeks of winter!
We know what this means. Snow, cold and just plain burr!

Phil was all dressed in a hat and bow tie.
He probably thinks another year and sighs.
Does Phil have a good life? He is provided for.
He does what ground hogs do. Life for him isn't a bore.

Ground hogs dig holes and like to run and play.
I would imagine Phil has his own play area and is okay.
I think Phil is pretty and I would like him for a pet.
Ground hogs aren't all friendly like him, you can bet.

Here's to another year. We will see Phil again next year.
We all dread winter and spring will be here, never fear.
Phil will eat and play. You have to admit that he is cute.
Seeing his shadow again next year or not will always be a dispute.
