Back In The Day We Story
Prompt: What is your back in the day we... story?

I remember when there were no cell phones or computers. You did your homework by reading text books or going to the library. You called your parents on a pay phone or school phone. A guy didn't text you to ask you out. He asked you out in person or wrote a note or told a friend to ask you which was tacky but it happened. No lap tops. We typed Term Papers on a slow typewriter and three keys struck at once or the ribbon skipped or the letter skipped. We had electric ones at school. I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO THAT but my point is we survived. Today's kids are like what? No computer or cell phone? Afraid not. Boys and girls.

We had weekly notices passed out on Friday about the upcoming week at school. Now, you just log onto the internet. No e-mails. You hand wrote letters and snail mailed them.

TV had 5 or 6 channels. No cable. No dish. No DVD Players. You would watch an old movie on the Late Show or weekly TV movie. If you missed your show, you had to wait for reruns in the summer. Bummer.

Hospitals use computers and the Nurse brings into your room and looks up your file and types everything. Old therometers went in your mouth or butt. Old dinosaur B/P cuffs, you would have to pump and pump and air leaks out. We used digital ones where I worked. Some Doctor Offices still use the old fashioned ones. Charts are on computer except where I worked in mental health and we did charts and wrote in them the old fashioned way.

Nooks and Kindles. Great for books but I like buying certain books in hard back.

I remember helping grandma wash clothes on her wringer washer. She got the electric one. Those were the days, my friend!

A neat Rainbow Unicorn Image.
