Three Views of Dawn

First light awakens
the glint of dew
on outstretched arms:
Saguaro sentinels,
silent witnesses
to the ever changing panorama
of life,
wave good morning
to flocks mourning doves.

Turning pink
with the splendor of a new day
dawn clouds
promise rain.

Pastel blues and reds
streak the clouds of morning
waking the poet's muse.
