Morning Star:
To the Bab

Unity's star dawned
announcing the rising sun,
and proclaiming a new day.

A merchant by profession;
He became a conduit for the Holy Spirit,
and established a new religion.

In May of 1844,
He proclaimed His mission
to the first of the eighteen Letter of the Living1.

His revelation was not fashionable
because he foretold the coming of Him Whom God Will Make Manifest2,
and proclaimed gender equality.

As I wrote this poem, I contemplated the Declaration of the Bab. I ask myself: How do you determine the productive of a revelation in the first one hundred or two hundred years after its founder's death or execution? The Bab was executed in front of a firing squad in 1850 in Tabriz, Persia (Iran) for proclaiming that God had spoken again.

We are living in a new reality,
and are on the verge of World Peace.

Today I have to ask myself
have my action become donors
to that peace.

New Eyes

My voyage since birth
has carried me beyond my
childhood's harbor,
and into the ocean of
divine love and unity.

I see
both humanity and the Almighty
with new eyes.

I see humanity
as a single species.

I see the Almighty
as one God with many names.

I see one foundation
upon which many religions are built.
