Emma And Elizabeth
What if Emma Woodhouse and Elizabeth Bennett would have been friends?

I think Emma would have encouraged Elizabeth to be with Darcy and as a matchmaker, she would know that they were right for each other. If they would have been friends and hung out at the balls and each other's houses, Emma would know at a glance how much Darcy would have cared for Elizabeth. Emma would have told Lady Catherine off and maybe found a mate for Anne. I think she could have found matches for Kitty and Mary.

Emma had a sixth sense about match making and I think she could have talked to Darcy and Elizabeth both and encouraged them both to be with each other. If Emma would have been involved in Pride and Prejudice, the story would have turned out differently. Would Emma had been Elizabeth's friend and not Charlotte Lucas? Elizabeth could have had both ladies for friends. Maybe Emma would have ended up with Darcy's cousin Richard. I see that as a match. If everyone liked Emma's matchmaking, she would have been everyone's best friend. I bet Jane Austen herself wished if she would have known Emma. Emma would definitely had found a Mr. Darcy for Jane. Maybe Charlotte would have found a better mate for Charlotte then Mr. Collins. Guess we will never know what could have happened if Jane had written Emma into P&P. I love P&P just as it is but I do think what if.
