Short Poems about Life, Death, and Immortality
1
Essence Released

Projectiles aimed into the heart of life
Penetrate the surface and are changed
Into upward rising atoms of air

2
The Elixir of Immortality

The wine of God's Word
Poured by His Manifestation
Into the lover's chalice.

3
Evolution

Reflecting reality
Rainbows dance
Among sun obscuring clouds

4
The Prison Is Empty

The prison is empty:
it lies there
         eyes closed in sleep,
         hands folded in prayer
         but it is empty.

Death has unlocked the door,
         and set the prisoner free.

5
Death Where is Thy Sting?

Dark
as the years
separating stellar atoms.

The tunnel
expands to accommodate
the fleeing soul.

6
For a Limited Time Only

Aeons have passed in silent meditation,
Since humanity ascended out of the primeval ooze.
Matter and spirit conjoined at conception/creation,
Are bound together for a limited time only.

7
Death

Door to
Eternal life in
All the worlds of God;
The messenger of joy;
Herald of immortality.

8
Beyond Death

Beyond the fog line,
waiting on the mountain's unseen crest,
contemplating,
in uninterrupted silence,
words and actions of the past,
sets my future self.

9
My Future

The state in which I find myself,
Is one determined by myself.

10
Seven Days

In seven days a world can begin,
Ascend out of the blaze of creation,
In seven days a world can end,
Descend into the flames of destruction.

In seven sun a soul can be save,
Embrace God's Manifestation and immortality,
In seven suns a soul can be lost,
Reject God's Manifestation for eternity.

11
Salt Grass

Sat grass watered by our tears
Decorates gardens of stone
In which we bury our fears

12
Azrael

On sorrowful wings he comes
Heavy with unshed tears;
Calling to hopeless ones
He echoes unspoken fears.

He carries a two-edged sword,
Sharp as crystallized coal;
That severs the umbilical cord
Bridging body and soul.

On radiant wings he comes,
Bringing a joyful message,
Opening for hopeful ones
Immortality's passage.

13
Call of Life

In the womb life called to me,
Begging me to come forth
Into the world of matter.

In matter's world life calls to me,
Promising rebirth
Upon the spiritual plane.

14
Aquarium

A bubble curtain
Rising to the liquid roof
Is parted by a glint of gold
         a flash of blue
         a streak of silver
         a black fin
         a spotted tail

The soul pass through
Death's curtain
To reappear on the other side
