The Empty Chalice
The Empty Chalice

Drained of its liqueur,
the grail brood
in tranquil solitude,
with anticipation
trickling from its moistened lip.

Reposing,
nest to it,
a decanter containing
the scarlet liquid
drawn from the vineyards
choicest vats.

The sparkling wine
of God's new covenant,
reflects the Lord returned
in the Father's Glory.
