Feast of Questions

Earth's Pain1

Listen carefully
You can hear Earth’s scream echoing
Off the tops of mountains.

Listen to her agony
As mountain tops are removed
To feed corporation’s bottom line.

Listen as her pain
Reverberates
Through atmosphere and mantel,
As her children
Obedient to the gods of greed
Behead her mountains
And fracture her stone hard bones.
