Bah Hum Bug?

DAY 2218: December 15, 2018

Prompt: Does the winter weather put you in a Bah Hum Bug mood this time of year? If so, how do you change your mood?

Although winter has not officially arrived in my little corner of the beautiful fall colours are long gone. Instead of a carpet of orange, red and gold a blanket of snow covers the ground.

The temperature rises and falls creating chaos on the roads. This morning we are at the freezing point and sleet is pouring from the sky. Large trucks have been roaring by since 3:00 am. spreading sand over the icy roads.

Bah Hum Bug? Yes, I do get into that mood. How do I get out of it?

There is beauty in nature even on the nastiest days. I have only to look out my patio doors to see the tree branches coated with shimmering ice or thick with heavy snow. Woodpeckers tapping on a suet block, colourful birds at the feeder, squirrels chasing each other around, and best of all deer eating apples and carrots on my patio.

I also like to cuddle up in bed with a good book until my eyes grow heavy and I fall into a long winter's nap.
