Before and After Salvation

Voice of Ego-Self:

I see the world enshrouded in a long black veil,
I hear the mournful echoes of the Banshee's wail,
The life that all men cherish, I hold quite cheap,
And find its maintenance not worth the keep.

Voice of God:

Child,
Of the receding night,
Do not flee th e dawn,
Turn in thy head long flight,
To meet the healing rays,
Of My rising light.

Voice of Spirit-Self:

I see the world through a veil of tears,
But now its joy s outweigh its fears,
The life I held in such contempt,
Is my most valuable asset.
