Prayer For Today

Lord, help me
to life my life
just one day at a time.

Lord, help me
To be free
of vain imaginations,
that come to me
in times of personal conflagrations
causing me consternation;
vain imaginations
that confirm low self-esteem,
Lord, help me

to life my life
without excess strife;
to exorcise all all prejudices
that complicates my life
and generates interpersonal strife;
to accept the unchangeable,
to alter the changeable,
and the wisdom to tell them apart;
to life my life

just one day at a time.
Let me make my life a rhyme
to the moment at hand.
Allowing me to perform
my song in the universal band.
Give me the ability
and the desire
to help someone else's dream come true.
just one day at a time.
