Wanton Desire

Prickles of anticipation cascade through my body.
You draw near.
My breath catches and holds,
My eyes watch you, caught in a trance.
Tremors vibrate through me
Sending my mind on a scattered chase
As my thoughts run wild
Like hyenas let loose on prey
Their laughter echoes in my head
Dancing with the rush of blood that throbs through my veins.
I am at a loss to hold myself still
But I try...
Outwardly, I am a statue
Aware of your every movement
Your breath sending ripples through the air.
My heart yearns
It calls to you
Though words are never expressed.
I can only hope
For your embrace to melt into me
And set me free.
