Could Have Written More Yesterday for My Movie Treatment

It was a terrific yesterday for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. True, I only got twenty more scene paragraphs done. But that’s all I needed to finish Act Three of my movie Treatment. That isn’t why I stopped writing, though. I probably could have done about five to ten more depending on how many Establishing Shots that I needed. But I couldn’t because I ran out of the lead for my pencils.

I thought that I had four already sharpened. But I didn’t. There was only two that were sharpened. And one of them was down a little anyway. So, there was only one sharpened and one almost completely sharpened. Luckily, I had enough lead on my other four pencils so that I could get at least twenty of them done. And there was a time where I wasn’t sure if I could get the last five of them completed. Yes, I know that I have used the word ‘sharpened’ several times in this paragraph. But what other words can I use for it?

Why did I get so many scene paragraphs done and could have done a lot more? There are two answers to this question: work and concentration. It wasn’t a typical Thursday at work yesterday. In fact, it was one of the slowest days that I have seen in a long time if ever for a Thursday. True, it got a little bit busy toward the last few hours of my shift. But before that, it was almost dead there. It did get a little busy before that, but not too busy.

Concentration also played a big part in how many scene paragraphs that I got done yesterday at work. Once I started writing those paragraphs I couldn’t stop. Of course, I did because of work. But that didn’t take up too much time away from my writing. It took about a half hour for the whole shift if it took that long. As soon as I started writing my pencils took over and everything just flowed out of me. I did have to do a little bit of erasing. But not too much yesterday.

What am I going to do today at work? That’s a stupid question, isn’t it? I’m going to continue working on my Water Wars movie Treatment. I don’t know if I can get twenty-five to thirty scene paragraphs including the Establishing Shot ones done or not. But if it like it’s like the last couple of days at work I should be able to do that many. Probably won’t be able to do thirty. I may be able to do twenty to twenty-five including the Establishing Shots, though. It all depends on how busy it gets at work today.
