Chapter Forty – Battle of Wills


Muab shouted over the commotion to the Dragon of Blue
“Watch your back – they’re right behind you!”

DragonBlue picked up her step throwing her voice to their pursuers left
Causing them to veer right as Snyder Pike screamed orders with contempt

To catch them both alive or dead – as long as the box was safe ~
At this Muab let loose another fireball to their confused rage.

Purple lightening filled the sky with static and grey-blue smoke
Clouds of sulfur thundered, spraying sparks and as a part they broke

DragonBlue withdrew the talisman created in the fourth dimension
Chanting high the cast of bringing down blue fire; ringed in protection

Both herself and Muab as the fire leapt to burn those running fast
Towards them as they were consumed in cold blue light en masse.

Snyder Pike was running away terrified by the power of blue
That stripped him of his twelve disciples before they knew

What had hit them they were overwhelmed and devoured,
Just like his rotten self; Snyder Pike cringed and he cowered

Disappearing into the mist left by the indigo rain
Screaming profanities and howling in his pain.

Though they were victorious, their own conflict closed
It cost them much in spirit, mind and in their soul.
