i'll always remember that October.
i felt as if the gaps were filled.
i should have been glad to be your shoulder,
stabilized, and never ran off to my hills.

we see the same stars, but in a different light.
now we share these same scars, but not the same fight.
you said i never cared, it hurt to hear from you,
but you're always right, my soul's not built to care like you.

if i could repair the damaged parts,
you'd still be far, but your breath still near me.
i'd rebuild the bridge to your heart
and still meet you there, halfway at Erie.
