To The Bab

Who were the other witnesses
to the Bab's declaration to Mulla Husayn,
the Babu’l-Bab1?

Khadijih Bagum and Haji Mubarak,
both heard the words
intoned by the Bab
as He revealed proofs
of His station and His mission
in May of 1844.

Before that evening Khadijih Bagum,
the Bab's wife,
was aware
that her husband
was a Manifestation of God.

One can only presume
that Haji Mubarak,
the Bab's Ethiopian servant,
knew of the Bab's
special station.
