Fair Warning: This isn’t very good. It was just a challenge I took to see if I could write nonstop for a few minutes.

El valle de la muerte, the locals called it, the Valley of Death. Whispers of hauntings and salacious murders were always spoken about the beautiful place, as if speaking it out loud would make the spirits arise.

At night, when the temperature was warm and hazy, clouds would move away from the moon just as winds would pick up. Then rain would beat down on the terrain, destroying the ground and mauling any beautiful flowers sprouting from the grass.

Tourists who would visit the land would stand out on their porches with half-eaten turkey tacos in their hands and gawk at the beauty in the nightmarish destruction, before snapping a picture on their smartphones of it all.

It was a wonderful sight for them to behold, but none ever considered what it meant. Mother Nature was angry, and in a few years, her anger would wipe out the home the humans had spent so long creating. Just like they had destroyed hers.
