Perpetual Motion

I watch in still silence
as the sun slides downward
my mind travels 1000 miles an hour
keeping pace with the earth's spin.

Thoughts fly by
                   some lost
                   some stored
                   some rejected
                   some not recognized
                   some take shape
                   some have choices
With each turn change happens.
This moment is not that moment or the next moment.
         I am propelled forward
         even if looking backward
and this day drops into the sea.
