Notes from mom, September 28, 1967

Mom's handwriting is cursive and very swirly.

August 29th, maybe I can catch up tonight?
Well, I did not catch up last night.
The evening was punctuated by my angry complaints.
However, I finally slept on the couch though many
hilarious T.V. shows.

Today is bright and sunny.
Kathy was up a quarter to seven and cut me across the nose
and bruised my head with a well aimed blow.

August 31th, I am very discouraged.
I hope hard work can cure it.
Hope to do floors and tidy the lower house.

September 4th, more waisted days no energy or will to do my work.
Maybe this morrow will pick up?

September 5th, I didn't catch up
Today is worse than yesterday, more work.
Terribly tired.
Hope to finally survive.
Day not too bad after all.

September 27th, last night with Kathy and I watched The Red Shoes
with Moria Thema.
It was over near one in the morning.
It was a wonderful experience my head spun with fantasy when I retired.
Kathy's tooth has been causing her some trouble,
but she was sweet for all her discomfort.
I hope to get something done but rain and children keep me back.
The boys are a bit noisy.
This afternoon is wild with their screams and sounds.

Most sign off-very tired.
About two when I retired.

September 28th, Thursday.
Wildcat of a hurricane Daisy coming up the coast,
but I shall wait and see.
Today has been a very bad one.
Have accomplished almost nothing.
My nerves are shot and the daily food mess knows I'm tired.

Reflections~Mom had a double mastectomy when I was a child.
