Conquering Lord

Little baby, conquering Lord,
Mighty He to save.
Not yet speaking, lasting Word,
Victor o'er the grave.

Born He is this very day.
David's shining Son.
Wonders in each truth to say.
Saving has been done.

Straw His pillow in His birth.
Slab His bed in death.
Never sons attained His worth,
giving Man his breath.

Little baby smelled the stench
of Man's unwelcome bed.
Product of a workman's bench
a trough to lay His head.

Little baby now a Man
died on man-made cross.
Rose, ascended by God's Plan
redeeming us from loss.
