Shorter Days Need Greater Light
Days of winter come and go.
Sunlit hours are few to know.
Nights of marching darkness grow,
while faithful hopes seem small.

How dark the blips when daylight dawned!
Attacking planes were many spawned.
Dismay the country's greatest bond
brought low by war cry's call.

Pearl Harbor's fall the light arose.
Great vigilance we newly chose.
Our light we'd shine or become those,
whose hope would quickly stall.

December days of '20 greets
the challenges of prayer or bleats
of weakened souls, who never meet
a triumph o'er the squall.

The twinkling lights each night do bring
the vict'ry o'er the dark we sing,
and bringing praise to Christ, the King,
we rest in His great Hall.
