I visited today for a few hours. He comes home Monday afternoon. Surgery for my friend is 6 am on Monday morning with a triple bypass. He is doing so well. Heart bypass is a very common surgery these days but keep him in your prayers....

And now, for puppy pictures.... He's still adorable; even with a shaved butt.... *Smile*

Obviously if you notice the time stamp on this entry, I am up way too early or awake way too late. *Rolleyes* There is so much going on that I have to find time for you guys in the middle of the night. The good news is if I make it until 4:30 this afternoon, I am off work for 9 days *Shock*

Puppy breezed through the second surgery yesterday. The shoulder? I didn't do that. Seems it's a congenital luxation that he was born with. I did throw it out of joint but it doesn't need surgery right now. He's doing great and should be able to come home on Monday or Tuesday.

I have a dear old friend who had a heart attack this week. He has no insurance, works part time as a bartender and is only 53. They are doing a triple bypass on Monday. I took the week off to look after the puppy so I guess I could help the family with the aftercare...... Damn, I'm such a Florence Knightinggale or whatever her name was that wanted to save the world. *Confused*

I promise to catch up on all blogs, all reviewing, all judging for my contests and everything else WDC that I'm behind on while I'm here next week watching the puppy sleep. Please know that each card, each email, each good wish for puppy recovery was taken straight to my heart!!

Out of surgery and awake. They put a plate and a pin in his left pelvis/hip and will do the right hip on Thursday am and the shoulder on Friday am. I can go see him tomorrow afternoon. Best case is that they can fix the right shoulder and hip at the same time but not likely.

Waiting is exhausting and I go nite nite now....
Thank you all...... Luv ya most........

Little Charley's prognosis is good and each day brings better news. Surgery is scheduled for today. He is eating and going to the bathroom on his own, though he is in pain. They have assured me that he is in better shape than I am. He is sedated heavily. I speak to the surgeon this morning. Their concern is keeping him asleep long enough to do all the surgery and feel that they may have to do it in two increments. They have encouraged me NOT to visit until they finish today's surgery as it will excite him and cause more pain. If his physical pain is anything like my emotional pain, I couldn't take it.

Please forgive me for not answering email or reading blogs. I'm trying to work as I know I will be off at least a week with him when he comes home. I guess I'm also gonna have to hock the farm. *Rolleyes* Just kidding....... Estimate, so far....... $2500 to $3500 *Shock* The good news on that front is that they offer a "no interest" payment plan if you have excellent credit. Thank God for me listening to my dad all these years.

I love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the notes and texts and emails. I have NEVER loved anything like I love this little fella. I don't know how you can fall so hard in such a short time, but I have. He has pulled me out of the deepest darkest hole I've been in for a long time.......

Thanks again for all your wonderful thoughts and I promise to keep you posted if you forgive me for not being talkative. I promise to catch up when I'm home for a week watching him sleep. *Frown*

Luv ya with all my heart and soul,

PS
My daughter in law has joined WDC and writes some awesome emotional poetry. Go by and give her some encouragement and some smiles.... She's been a rock through this!

Yesterday I was playing fetch with the puppy baby and tripped over him and stepped on him injuring him critically. He has two broken pelvises and a dislocated shoulder. Surgery in the morning..... Keep my broken heart in your thoughts.....

PS I have a date tonight with the new guy. We're going to do the tourist thing and visit the Oak Island lighthouse and the historic district of Southport. "Crimes of the Heart", the movie was filmed there as were many episodes of "Matlock" He's actually from PA and has only been in NC for a few years so has never seen things in my world. I'll take any suggestions for making that special, too!

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited..........

RED-NECK VALENTINE'S LOVE POEM

Collards is green
my dog's name is Blue
and I'm so lucky to have
a sweet thang like you.

Yore hair is like cornsilk
a-flapping in the breeze
Softer than Blue's
and without all them fleas.

You move like the bass,
which excite me in May.
You ain't got no scales
but I luv you anyway.

Yo're as satisfy'n as okry
jist a-fry'n in the pan.
Yo're as fragrant as "snuff"
right out of the can.

You have som'a yore teeth,
for which I am proud;
I hold my head high
when we're in a crowd.

On special occasions,
when you shave under yore arms,
well, I'm in hawg heaven,
and awed by yore charms.

Still them fellers at work,
they all want to know,
what I did to deserve
such a purdy, young doe.

Like a good roll of duct tape
yo're there fer yore man,
to patch up life's troubles
and fix what you can.

Yo're as cute as a junebug
a-buzzin' overhead.
You ain't mean like those far ants
I found in my bed.

Cut from the best cloth
like a plaid flannel shirt,
you spark up my life
more than a fresh load of dirt.

When you hold me real tight
like a padded gunrack,
my life is complete;
Ain't nuttin' I lack.

Yore complexion, it's perfection,
like the best vinyl sidin'.
despite all the years,
yore age, it keeps hidin'.

Me 'n' you's like a Moon Pie
with a RC cold drank,
we go together
like a skunk goes with stank.

Some men, they buy chocolate
for Valentine's Day;
They git it at Wal-Mart,
it's romantic that way.

Some men git roses
on that special day
from the cooler at Kroger.
"That's impressive," I say.

Some men buy fine diamonds
from a flea market booth.
"Diamonds are forever,"
they explain, suave and couth.

But for this man, honey, these won't do.
Cause yo're too special, you sweet thang you.
I got you a gift, without taste nor odor,
more useful than diamonds..

Yea, I know you want to know; inquiring minds that you are.

Nice guy, about 6 foot, good job, nice truck, great conversationalist, a perfect gentleman (for the most part), good to his family, wouldn't let me pay half, great conversationalist. He lives two hours away so we met at my friend's house in Wilmington. They (my friends) went out to eat with us. Outback! My favorite......

He called to make sure I got home alright. I was here by midnight and my son was waiting up. *Shock* Oh no, we will not do this..... I'm the parent... *Rolleyes*

Ok, so is that enough for the first date; a really great supper, lots of laughs and good conversation. Now we'll see if he calls again. Even if he doesn't, I have new jeans that are in style and not ten years old, I have new shoes and a few new sweaters and my nails look good. I did get a good deal when shopping. I ended up with two jackets, four pair of jeans, two sweaters and two shirts. I am NOT a shopper so when I go, I go big. *Laugh*

My son says as long as I didn't talk too much, fart, burp or spill a drink, I'm all good...... When exactly did this switch happen where he waits up and gives dating advice??? *Confused*

Thanks for worrying about me. You guys rock!

Now, I know why I hate dating. I got up this morning and went and had my nails done. (cost $30.00) then stopped by Cato's to grab a new sweater to make me feel good about me. They were having a kick-ass sale on winter clothes for 7.99 to 13.99. It was stuff I could not live without. *Rolleyes* (cost $150.00) Then I stop at the tanning bed hoping I still have sessions left from last year. Rightttttttt..... sale on packages (cost $25.00)

This date has cost me almost $200 and he doesn't pick me up until 7:30. I could have gone to Walmart, bought new pajamas, the dog a bone, stopped and got pizza and a bottle of rum and curled up on the couch for the night. Dating is too dang much trouble..... And what if I don't like him or worse, what if he doesn't like me. What if my hair won't cooperate or my makeup looks fake.......

Too much trouble, yep.........
