Love and Life- the two most complicated aspects of this world.
I was originally inspired by Sara Bareilles's "Bottle It Up." One night, I was listening to the radio and brushing my teeth. The song came on. The opening lyrics are "I do it for love, love, love." Well, I started making fun of that, making up new lines. Then, something hit me. I had to write down what I was saying. I did. Five days later, I had 123 hand-written pages of story.

Titled "Complicated" due to the revelation in the chapter "Josh," this is Michelle "Micky" Brant's story. Meet Micky. She is a sixteen year-old high schooler attending Gwinnett High. Kids at school know Micky as the most popular girl in the junior class who gets the most popular guy in the junior class as her boyfriend, Derek Jameson. Like any other kid, Micky has secrets and intends to keep them hidden. How long can she withstand the pressures of being a teenager?


Preface

You did it for Love. You did it out of Love. It happened because of Love.
I repeat these words to myself again and again.
It doesn’t help. The pain and frustration and anger don’t leave. Just like the memories, they never will.
More tangible than you. Less meaningful than you. A mismatched pair of socks. What was left is a horrible connection to you.
A fresh wave of agony washes over me. Love. For Love.
For me.
