PROTAGONIST: Janine
PREMISE:
Janine marries a man who is 8 years older than she. He is a lighthouse keeper and they go to live at the lighthouse. The lighthouse is on an island that has no other homes on it.
Janine is lonely but finds ways to occupy her time. Until one day, there is a bad storm and a stranger's boat is blown onto the island. The stranger seems to think she is incapable of showing strength as a woman and often laughs at her while is on the island. But he gets her to thinking about her life.
Janine has to choose to stay with her husband in their lonely existence or move back to the mainland where she has friends and family.
She weathers storms, both environmental and internal to come to a conclusion that she can live with.
MORAL OR LESSON: Sometimes you can follow your heart and live with the consequences...or you can do what is right and live a life that looks good to the outside world but hurts inside. We all have choices...
