Gratitude breaks the spell of Writers Block
Staring at a blank page is like staring into a snowfield. The snow, untouched by civilization and unmarked by living creatures, blinds you for a few minutes, it glistens reflecting subtle shades of pure white and rainbows at odd angles. If you stare at the snow too long, you get lost in the interplay of light and shadow.

As the day wears on, you become awestruck at the beauty of the snow's perfection. You marvel at the way an oak tree cast its ebony shadow across the pure white snow. You watch the tree's shadow change, grow and shrink, as Earth turns and the sun moves from morning to evening. If you stand out in the snow too long without moving, you risk snow bite or freezing.

If you are fortunate, a red fox will walk across your line of sight. The fox will leave his footprints written in the snowfield. As you watch the fox move, the spell holding you in one spot staring at the snow is broken. You are free to go inside out of the cold and out of danger.

I must say,
writing 500 words a day
isn't difficult,
unless I'm attempting to write
on a single subject.

On Monday, October 28, 2013, I began posting my weekly goals at "Weekly Goals. On Tuesday, October 29, 2013 I began keeping track of may accomplished goals in this journal.

"O SON OF BEING! Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning;
for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give account for thy deeds."

'Heinlein's Rules for Writers

         Rule One: You Must Write
Rule Two: Finish What Your Start
Rule Three: You Must Refrain From Rewriting, Except to Editorial Order
Rule Four: You Must Put Your Story on the Market
Rule Five: You Must Keep it on the Market until it has Sold'

Robert A. Heinlein

It is enjoined upon every one of you to engage in some form of occupation, such as crafts, trades and the like. We have graciously exalted your engagement in such work to the rank of worship unto God, the True One. Ponder ye in your hearts the grace and the blessings of God and render thanks unto Him at eventide and at dawn. Waste not your time in idleness and sloth. Occupy yourselves with that which profiteth yourselves and others. Thus hath it been decreed in this Tablet from whose horizon the day-star of wisdom and utterance shineth resplendent.
Baha'u'llah, Tablets of Baha'u'llah Revealed After the Kitab-i-Aqdas, Pages 21-29: gr 32

I changed the way I did entries in this book several times. Beginning on March 21, 2018 the entries will cover the topics of spiritual, inspirational, and religions. However, the genres it will be under are Women's, Inspirational, and Spiritual with a tag of Religious.

Thanksgiving

On Thanksgiving 2020 I am grateful for the revelation of Baha'u'llah, and His concept of Progressive Revelation. Progressive Revelation unites all the Divine Messengers as part of God's plan for humanity. Some of God Manifestations or Messengers--such as Christ and Muhammad--were mentioned by name in the scripture revealed by Baha'u'llah, while others were not mentioned by name.

"...within the ocean of divine unity, thou wilt view all the Prophets and Messengers of God as one soul and one body, as one light and one spirit, in such wise that the first among them would be last and the last would be first. For they have all arisen to proclaim His Cause and have established the laws of divine wisdom. They are, one and all, the Manifestations of His Self, the Repositories of His might, the Treasuries of His Revelation, the Dawning-Places of His splendour, and the Daysprings of His light..."
Baha'u'llah123

I am thankful for Baha'iTeaching.org  , because they have thought provoking, opinion articles that help give me me a deeper understanding of the Baha'i Teachings. These articles cover numerous topics, such as Prophecies Fulfilled, Baha'i History, Meditation, Prayer, etc.

I am thankful for YouTube, because I can access various Baha'i educational and musical videos on my computer or smartphone.

I am thankful for the videos is "The Prisoner of Akka"--which I can access on YouTube--because it is educational, inspiring, and one of my favorite videos.

I am thankful that I have a copy of The Kitáb-i-Íqán (The Book of Certitude), because in it Baha'u'llah explains the symbols of the Holy Books.

I am thankful that I have a copy of The Hidden Words, because it is the inner essence of the revelation of all the Prophets.

I am thankful that this is not the holiday season I celebrate, because I can relax--without worrying about what I am going to give others--and enjoy watching my neighbors, friends, and family celebrate their holiday season.

I am thankful for Baha'u'llah's injunction to search for truth myself, because it encourages me to ask questions about what I read online and in the sacred scriptures. It also encourages me to look into the history I was not taught in school.

I am thankful for writing.com, because it gives me access to different stories, poems, and essays. I also gives me a place to get feed back on my literary compositions.

Istijlal (Majesty), 17 Qudrat (Power) 177 B.E. - Thursday, November 19, 2020

Today I am thankful ...
*BulletV* ...for the poinsettias De's brother left for us today.

Istiqlal (Independence), 18 Qudrat (Power) 177 B.E. - Friday, November 20, 2020

I began this Thankful Thursday entry yesterday. Since I did not complete my gratitude list I am continuing it today, Friday, November 20, 2020. I noticed that, for several weeks, I have not completed my nine items gratitude list. I suspect this is just another 2020 test, which will clear up in 2021, so that I can deal with different tests and difficulties issues.

Today I am thankful ...
*BulletV* ...that my Bank of America checking account is not overdrawn today.
*BulletV* ...for hot, black coffee on this beautiful Autumn morning.
*BulletV* ...that there are only 34 days until Christmas, because that means there are only 33 days until my birthday.

*BulletV* ...for the chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing that I had for my morning snack.
*BulletV* ...that I have, so far, written 30,063 words for NaNoWriMo.

Jalal (Glory), 19 Qudrat (Power) 177 B.E. - Saturday, November 21, 2020

It's Saturday, and I'm still attempting to finish my Thankful Thursday gratitude list. I am also attempting to finish a letter in "Epistles From My Soul that I started on Wednesday. I'm sure there are other things I have to do, such as post an entry to "I Blog Poetry and Prose, and I'll (hopefully) get to those this weekend.

Today I am thankful ...
*BulletV* ...for Mema because she lays in my lap and purrs.
*BulletV* ...that I have 434,112 GPs in my Gift Points account.
*BulletV* ...for chocolate rice crispie treats.

Istijlal (Majesty), 10 Qudrat (Power) 177 B.E. - Thursday, November 12, 2020

Today I am thankful for the healing prayers revealed by the Bab, Baha'u'llah, and 'Abdu'l-Baha. Whenever I read or recite one of those prayers my mood changes for the better. I become a more positive person, and can face any problem that arises in my life. One of my favorite prayers by Baha'u'llah is "Thy name is my healing,.."

"Thy name is my healing, O my God, and remembrance of Thee is my remedy. Nearness to Thee is my hope, and love for Thee is my companion. Thy mercy to me is my healing and my succor in both this world and the world to come. Thou, verily, art the All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise."4

Today I am thankful for the cat laying on my lap, because she is warm and purrs.

"Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is a direct evidence of the revelation within it of the attributes and names of God, inasmuch as within every atom are enshrined the signs that bear eloquent testimony to the revelation of that Most Great Light..."
Bahá’u’lláh56

On the first Thankful Thursday in November 2020,
I give thanks to the All-Glorious Lord
for the beauty of another autumn morning,
and the chance to give thanks
for another glorious day of life.

O Lord, thank you
for the bright sun,
the singing birds,
and the clear blue sky.
