I sat with a wise-old Swede recently lamenting about my inability to make good choices... or just choices.

I said that I liked Sisaket (in Isaan, Thailand) better than here... He said... then go. What about my loneliness? "Someone there will be attracted to you."

He also mentioned his many romantic failures, including one girlfriend of 3 years who slashed him. *sigh* He has a new one. We met. I like her.

I would never hope that anyone was treated unfairly, but I get the point of his message.

The "this too shall pass" has helped me many a time.

Living in the present is a challenge, I agree, but sometimes it's good to just Zen out the world....even for 5 minutes at a time.

There's a song I think about every time I hear "nothing stays the same." It's by Patty Loveless, and it's called How Can I Help You Say Goodbye. Life definitely changes. I have a tough time living in the present. It's hard not to fall back into the past or worry about the future.

Sometimes living in the moment feels like ground hog day with Bill Murray for me. I keep trying to see the positive but it is challenging.

There are many days when I don't wax so philosophical.

I do think that we are capable of learning lessons; it's just that sometimes I'm a tad slow.

Forgotten Birthday's

WDC Birthday Bash Blog

Day Three: A FORGOTTEN BIRTHDAY

I don't like being the center of attention, but I also don't want to be forgotten either. I don't want a big party, but I don't want to be ignored either.

I feel for those people living alone without access to technology. I'm sure many of them had their birthday's forgotten or they did not get any fanfare.

I also feel for those people stuck in a hospital.
