A new story idea in the works, feedback is always appreciated :) I came up with the idea one night riding my bike. I thought of all my friends and family who are gay and the struggles they've gone through and how in the greater scheme of things, it's all just silly. So then I thought, what if heterosexuality were not the norm? What if a girl falling for a boy, or vice versa, were taboo? So a world began creating itself in my mind. A world where genders no longer mix and everyone is genetically modified to be who they're needed to be in the new Society. And in my mind, this is what might happen... Story Description: Two hundred years ago, political and social unrest came to a head. Building hatred and intolerance caused society to implode on itself in a catastrophic war ravaging everything. A new Society rose from the ashes, a world where everyone and everything is kept neutral in body, mind, and spirit. Individuality is now a thing of the past. Genetically engineered individuals whose predetermined fates are assigned to lives that best suit the Society and its needs now fill the carefully monitored streets. Emotions like love, hate, pride, and jealousy have been educated out of the collective consciousness. The Leaders strive to keep the danger of passion from their citizens. One girl has discovered treasures from the old world. She is learning of the past and her curiosity is rising. She can’t believe that humanity is the disease the Leaders would have her believe, a dispassionate world cannot be the answer. Can she be the Phoenix from the ashes of destruction that her world so badly needs? Can she find a way to bring about a New Order? |
