Just a few thoughts, rants & observations have popped into my head as I go about my life

Hi people of WDC land ....I must first tell you why I am here, not because you necessarily want, or need to know ....but because I feel the need to tell you. And you will soon learn that when I feel the need to say something, say something I will. Anyway, I digress ....I joined this site initially because I love poetry and, partly inspired by my friend ⭐️Jellyfish⭐️

, I was determined to try my hand at writing myself. I was directed to this site and managed to write one or two average items of verse. I have only been on the site briefly but have come to love the place and get a lot out of readng some of the inspirational work on the site.

Now, the only problem I have encountered is that I have realised my natural talents do not lie with writing poetic verse of any type despite being quite happy with a couple of my early efforts. However, it has been said on more than one occasion that I seem to have a lot to say whether it be to rant about the state of the politics in the UK or some other such current affairs item, or just to make random observations on the state of the world or even situations in my life. I have therefore decided to make my first attempt at writing a blog. The only potential drawback to this is to ensure that I actually keep it updated ....that I guess is the challenge I make to myself.

So people, think of this as an introduction ...I hope to add pages to this over time and with a bit of luck one or two of you may find my words mildly interesting. Nothing I write will be intentionally offensive but I will speak with honesty. Any comments will be welcomed.

-- I think you've hit the nail right on the head when it comes to what our prayer needs to be:

"a change in the mindset of all terrorists"

As for any killing or not killing, I think that one rule-of-thumb needs to be that it's killing done in defensive attacks rather than in offensive attacks.

I have so much more I could say about this but am lacking in time to do so now.

However, I'm going to be saving this blog-entry where I can easily find it and will be working with it later.

Absolutely ....and the irony is that the politicians leading the LEAVE campaign didnt actually want or expect to win. Both main parties are full of infighting and the country has no leadership. It beggars belief really.

I've been following the reactions and NO ONE is happy. The voters seem to have been sold a bill of goods by the LEAVE leaders and are just now realizing they were lied to. A politician lie? Who knew?

Prayer needs to be specific. I am praying for a change in the mindset of all terrorists. Even though it sounds funny

I truly want them to feel a hunger to grow plants. I want them to yearn to stop the blood shed. Only if that yearning is bigger than the stupid religious ideas, that they are being taught, will they turn away and say no! individually, not me.

I just read Chris Kyle's book, "American Sniper" I am sad that it is necessary for the USA and other countries to train men to kill the terrorists. However, if we don't fight they won't stop killing. This is a proven fact. ISIL believes in killing and they do not understand free speech.

Of course people want to make peace, but that could only happen if the terrorists wanted to make peace and I kind of think they don't.

Can you really picture the ISIL leader sending a message to the world saying, "OK, we realize all these violent actions of ours are not the best approach, so now we want to have discussions about a peaceful settlement."

Because so far all his messages say, "Watch out! We're coming for you! Be afraid! Be very afraid!"

.....yes you're right and in all honesty I meant it to come across that the US and Britain were just part of the problem, allbeit a big part.

As for taking in refugees, Germany became the holy grail as they were the country which first said we'll take them all, of course I think they underestimated the amount of people involved. People generally head for Britain as it has a good reputation for taking in everyone and is seen as a prosperous country although I dont think we're the main target.

...and yeah, as far as the US is concerned, I think public opinion is against taking them in which is why Obama is able to say no, not that I agree with it. Cameron took a lot of criticism for his stance, partly from the British people but mainly from other EU countries and it's probably being part of the EU which has made our government relent.

It's an interesting view that I've heard before: The USA and Britain are the cause of Middle East problems. I don't doubt that they are two OF the causes. If you can't list a dozen other causes then you haven't really studied the situation.

I don't think it's necessary for USA and Britain to say, "Hey, this mess is totally our fault!"

Rather, a statement like, "We regret that our action have only made the Middle East situation worse instead of better," would be more in tune with reality.

Now, as to who should take in refuges, that's an interesting question and one nobody has a choice in because the refugees are going to go where they want to go. Apparently, many of them think Germany is some sort of paradise. It's difficult enough for them to get there. Even harder to get to Britain. And getting to the USA is almost impossible for them. Although, I suppose you would want the USA to send passenger liners across the Atlantic and ferry them over to America. Unfortunately, America is a democracy and there would have to be tremendous public support for such a move.

Well, I'm afraid you've missed the point. To say that 'there are lots of arabs living in the USA' as part of an argument against accepting refugees is rather bizarre, irrespective of the fact they may not actually be arabs. Many countries, especially in the west including Europe have thousands of multi-nationals who have over time migrated for whatever reason. America's immigration policy is quite strict but in a good way so there intake per person is probably less than many countries in Europe which in effect have open borders because of EU regulations. I wish our border control was more strict but that's another issue.

The point here is that the refugee crisis in the middle east is the worst since WW2 ....and possibly in history. What we have is several countries ...Iraq, Syria & Libya that the likes of Britain and America have contributed to with this crazy idea that they can walk into these countries, make an attempt at regime change and then walk out leaving the countries in a mess.

These people are fleeing their homes and arriving in Europe in makeshift boats ....and I think we're into millions now not thousands. I saw a report yesterday that the US had taken in 108 Syrians this year up to October. I'm not sure how correct that is but it's certainly not a lot more. Even Canada is doing it's bit. Our PM has pretty much the same attitude as the US government but has bowed to pressure and will be taking refugees in now. But the US, despite the immense size of the country is still not doing enough.

Is everyone shouting 'death to America'? ....you know this how? As for the militants/terrorist groups, they are not popular worldwide but these are the people the refugees are fleeing from su surely we should be helping them.

What you really need to understand is that the western powers including your country and mine caused a lot of the problems out there now ...if you don't accept that then I can understand why you'd not agree with the rest of the points made
