"very angry child" you say, someone or something happened to cause such a child to keep the anger while growing up; consider the 'insides' of that person who certainly has cause to do some internal focus and give apologies to each person wronged. Children are tremendously impressionable and can't understand what causes what they, deep down, don't like about their disposition. For this writer, something or someone gave him reason to see what he had become and gave him strength and wisdom to change himself "reverse the self destruction he had done for years". Every child needs a mentor like the writer has become who can "hold my head high and own who I am."
