Welcome to my blog! I am in the process of what I like to call "Re-inventing Myself," so theres no telling where this might go.
Hopefully I will give my readers some insight to what makes Word Warrior different (I keep telling everyone that we prefer to be called "different" or "special" - not "weird")
So come on in, poke around a bit. There's all kind of stuff inside, from true ghost stories full-blown miracles, and everything in between!
As a member of "that group", I make no excuses. Mean and rude is not acceptable for anyone, though it could be they don't think they have much time left .
Firstly, I don't agree that you get paid to put up with people who are mean to you. I'm betting that's not in your job description. I used to work for an insurance company, where a lot of our customers were farmers. Now, according to David it's not the same in the U.S., but over here an awful lot of farmers are well off and think they have a God given right to be more important than anyone else. I remember one time, an elderly man phoned to speak to my boss. He was already on the phone, so I asked to take a message. The man proceeded to drop the F Bomb about ten times and called me a liar and said I shouldn't be working there. I remained calm and said, "I'm sorry, but I won't be spoken to like that." I hung up the phone, told my boss when he became free. My boss then phoned the guy and apologised for MY behaviour! Anyway, I digress. On the whole, the elderly have nice and mean people, like any age group. But, I do see a lot of them who think they have a divine right to be treated better than anyone else.
This is 100% accurate. I went through this battle personally. 2010-2011, I was nearing the point of being as irrational as your friend Alicia. Luckily, I was persuaded to seek help before I lost my life. I was certainly on that path. Simply put - if you take those pills long enough, they not only numb out pain, they numb out emotions.
So sad. :(
But the addiction is true.
My work also lets me see first hand how desperate people become for their pain medication, and how ugly it makes them when it's not there immediately.

April I love your faith and the saying which I also stand on. 'God is good all the time.' He never let's us down and if we learn to stand on the word of God we can expel all doubt and fear from our lives. 'Only believe.'
I went into hospital many years ago. I had just been baptised in full immersion and given my life to Jesus, I trusted God.
I had a bleed and was taken to hospital the same day, the Drs thought it could be a cancer. I trusted God's word to 'fear not. I will survive in all circumstances and no sudden danger will come upon me.' I also had a heart murmur since I was born. The Anaesthetist told me that I had no murmur and the Drs gave me a clean bill of health.
Your faith is an exemplary witness to our father and his word never fails.
So many people get frustrated with people who are different then them. With children it is the same way. I love my boys to no end but find myself losing my temper. Never do I hit them out of anger and rarely do I spank (it just doesn't work). I wish there were more caring people to take care of those women but sadly it is probably such a need for helpers that they will just chose anyone.

I'm so glad you went up and found out they were going to report the abuse. It truly is difficult to speak to people that are being the abusers. You never know just what they will do to their patients. God Bless the two little ladies. I have a friend thats daughter-in-law has shook her and squeezed her face. Now, she is a lot younger than me and I am still wondering why the person doing this wasn't lying on the floor and she struck back, but she didn't I guess some people are scared to make them stop. I do not think anyone would dare to abuse me, but then I would never let someone like that abuse me. Of course, if things changed and I didn't know what was really going on, just that this person was hurting me, that would be different. They are so very vulnerable.
Thanks everyone. It really hurt my heart to witness this. I think God put me in the right place at the right time, because He knew I would try to help them.
I am a caregiver myself, and I would never even think of speaking to my little gentleman the way they were spoken to - and to hurt him the way Lily was hurt is unthinkable!!
