July 22, 2015 I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done. I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them. I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC. |
 I'm off to do some more site seeing, read a book, and knit. Lyn is the best travel guide I know. I've actually looked at some generational types of music and enjoyed most of the artists we connected with, so, our annual August trip can be considered another worth it all experience. | I am having a great cruise. How are you getting along on this cruise/ The visit to Nassau was spectacular. I spent some time on the beach. Did you like the food carts and wagons? I ate food from Conclie Joe's. He cooked us some fish taco's/veggie slaw/and Bahamian lobster roll with lemon butter sauce. The cart was parked at montagu beach near the fort.  I forgot the mango Ice Cream. I'll sing this one for sure. Or maybe the song by Toto "Africa" Or https://youtu.be/9HKNAhAxMAk this one would keep everyone awake after the long day touring Nassau. One of the best things about this cruise is sitting on the deck watching the water roll by. Blue Moon, Lyn, Noyoki, and I spent some time with the Yoga instructor. Plus, we just enjoyed some of the evening on deck comparing the sites we saw, the shops we visited and the food we ate. Karaoke was such a good time everyone thought of different songs to sing. Time for rest now.  |
08/28/2018 What did I like the most? August travels with the 30-Day-Challenge is a highlight in my year. I always look forward to the travels. KiD Rock = Only God Knows Why / This song says something you might be thinking without even knowing it. Reed and Carolyn = Science Album Beach House = Space / Ed Sheehan = I See Fire Whatever I posted in each blog that I completed is something I enjoyed including the song today from Melissa Eldridge = "Come To My Window" What I did not like is more like what I don't listen to regularly or people I'm just not familiar with. I found some rap and Hip Hop I like and some I would never go back and listen to again. Sometimes I found an artist I just did not care for most of their work then I would find one song that was special by that group. Some of the macho male artists that sing love songs. Just not my style. Music is written by people with backgrounds and those social backgrounds come out in the what they write. Some of them just sing to a particular group. It may be good music I just don't relate. Music is poetry in synchronicity. Some of it you like some of it you don't. ![Merit Badge in Cheerleading

| I could not miss Canada. It's one of my favorite countries after the USA. So, I visited the Royal Conservatory of Music. Koerner Hall has great seating and acoustics. This was a cool way to listen to music: Then visiting the Toronto Music Gardens. How cool Each sign complete with musical score to represent the exhibits in a musical setting. I love plants. I can grow them but I prefer to just enjoy them after they are grown . The Botanical gardens are beautiful. I think escape rooms for parties are just the right mystery for a party. I fear I would never be able to follow enough clues to get back out of a room. I'm relying on the 30-Day-Challenge group to help me escape. I still remember this song so I guess I will have to sing it. | The glass in the Olive at Seattle is beautiful. I had a good time visiting the work out room. When we visited the Space Needle It was a great ride. Going up in tall building is a little like being shot into space.  Watch out for the drag as you go up and hang on when you sail down. What a beautiful view. You can see for miles. Even beyond the building to the mountains.This is one of my favorites from the concert: PS: Something always happens to me in August the last three years. This year a cousin of Keith's had a terrible accident and died so Keith was gone all week plus we had thunder and lightning storms at home so I keep off the computer. In any event I used all the time to catch up on some business at home. Even though I missed some of the concerts, If I get a chance I will go back and catch up on them. Also, expecting company from out of state so can't seem to keep caught up on every thing. Keep On Keepin On! |
| Although I'm sure the strip has a lot of entertainment to offer I was also interested to view some of the surrounding scenery. I thought the Hotel was an awesome looking place but after checking in I talked some of the group into hitting the road. We hired a car and drove the 22 miles to a nearby 120 acre place called Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. The views of nearby mountains were spectacular. The springs from these mountains used to be a source of water for the Paiute tribes who settled the area. Of course the ranch has cattle but, another draw are the museum sites of former famous people who spent time at the ranch. After our visit here we raced back to get to the concert: Lots of rock in this group: I skipped chippendale, someone else will have to fill me in to this rowdy bunch. Some of you visited the casinos I'm sure. Did you come home wealthy? BYE FOR NOW! |
Your right about this band. It should be big. They have a great sound. I really liked this song. I also listened to "Song for Another Time" which had a great video attached to it. Really music drives a certain part of society. It is good to keep up with what is up coming. After watching everyone driving fast cars it's nice to come down to earth and watch just one band in a fair type setting.  ![Merit Badge in Celebration

 Dancing all night sure tires me out.The Hampton Inn seems cosy. I did not see any ghosts in the halls. Oh yeah I guess we left them back in Louisiana. Now, I've gone to far and scared Blue Moon so she can't sleep at night. As to Nascar you finally found a place I won't participate. I'll pull up a chair on the side lines and watch everyone else drive. I'm sure it isn't any more dangerous than riding horses on that Argentina cattle drive last August but still. Horses have a sense of danger and keeping the rider safe; I'm not sure a car even cares. I injured my leg when I tripped over backwards last winter on a pile of snow covered manure. I'm healing but, I've been babying the knee all summer. Bet I can still polka, since I was hopping to some Hip Hop last week. Learned to polka in dance class, in gym class, way back when I was in high school. So, here is some music to jump around with: Jolliet is still rockin. I can hardly wait to see how Lyn, Sandra Lyn, Blue Moon, Carly, Noyoki got along with their car rides?? Your in luck Blue Moon the rooms at the Inn have night lights. Let's Polka! |
   I'm assuming the bricked up tombs are to keep the dead inside? I listened to Dana Abbott she was playing at BB Kings today at 12 noon. Her band is a good sound. then Tracy Chapman came on. Just good listen in. Dancin and singin an everyday journey. I'm wondering about a place where so much soul music lives on with Ghosts, witches, and ghouls.  Someone posted the chords to some music I saw I'm going to try out chording. Sing On! |
