An image for a blog that I hope will take root. "Matthew 7:1 says "Do not judge or you will be judged. For in the same way you judge others you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you."

What is your take on this passage?"

I believe Jesus is talking about people who spitefully find fault with others. I believe he is talking about the backbiters who condemn and tear down and never build up. Judgment in this sense is destructive. There are other passages where he tells us we are to judge. So the difference is between motivation and action. If your motive is only to hurt then it is sin.

Blog City image small "Prompt: "If you're not having a good time, find something else that gives you joy." Do you agree with this?"

If you're not having a good time try Jesus. He won't end your trials but He'll make them bearable.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: In this month's edition of Writer's Digest Diana Pho says, "Writing is hard, but writing own voices is harder. Despite recent efforts statistics show that own voice stories are being left behind in the industry. On top of industrialized challenges minority writers deal with added pressure that their individual story comes to represent of the whole of their community." Do you agree with her assessment? Does the fact the majority of the publishing industry are white, straight, able bodied and affluent affect the decision making when it comes to publication?"

It sounds like racist non sense to me and I choose not to dignify it with a comment.
