Announcement: College is back in session beginning Monday January 4, 2019. I will be attending five days per week. There will be some mornings I will not be able to post until later in the morning due to my class schedule. I will do my best to remain faithful however.

An image for a blog that I hope will take root. Prompt: "Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened up to us through the curtain, this is, his body, and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water" Hebrews 10: 19-23.

Explain the curtain. Why is it so significant that we can approach it boldly?"

The curtain the Hebrew writer was discussing was the dividing curtain between the holy place in the temple where animals were sacrificed and the Most Holy Place where only a priest dared enter to burn incense and make atonement for the Hebrews and that only once per year. The Most Holy Place was the dwelling place for the glory of God. When the priest went in once per year he did so with a rope tied around his foot. The rope was essential because if the priest saw God and died he had to be taken out of the Most Holy Place and only priests were allowed to enter it. What the Hebrews writer is telling us is that Jesus' sacrificial death changed all of that. Now Christians who have been sprinkled with the blood of Christ can enter the Most Holy Place by boldly approaching God's throne of grace in prayer. We walk where the high priest in Israel only walked once per year and we do it as Gentiles grafted into the Jewish family by the blood of Christ. To the High Priest this would have seemed blasphemous and impossible. Priests actually died entering the Most Holy Place. Now we come and go there at will because Jesus tore down the dividing curtain.

Blog City image small Prompt: "Dinner with Queen Elizabeth or Stephen King. Which one would you enjoy dining with and why? You can only ask one personal question, what’s it going to be?"

I would not dine with either one. I would dine with Jesus Christ. The personal question I would ask Him would be "What compels such willingness to do your Father's will even though you know beforehand the price you will pay? Of course the answer is love. Jesus loved the Father with all His heart, soul, mind, and strength. He also loved His fellow man as much as He loved Himself. Therefore it was a slam dunk that He was going to carry out His Father's will and leave the beauty and wonders of Heaven above to become finite man and live in this fallen world just to eventually allow Himself to be murdered on a cross. It was God's divine plan and Jesus' willingness to see it through was the catalyst to carrying it out. God is love and Jesus is God.

I think people defraud God all the time. I say this because they cheat God out of what is rightfully His. He asks that we give Him an offering out of our means and an offering of our time. Enter your prayer attic with God at least once a day. It will surprise you what a difference it makes in your faith and your life. Square things up with God by having a time of confession. Confession truly is good for the soul. God will be your boat on the stormy waters of life. Do not resist God and he will draw near to you. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Your life will be spicy with God in it. Train your heart to follow God. Give your heart to Jesus. The disgrace will be in not doing so!
