The last Final cut entries are my efforts at writing on the fly. I allowed myself ten minutes each poem and 15 minutes each story. They are not perfect, and are not meant to be. They are simply fun timed and prompt-based writing exercises. Week 5 Prompt 1: Write a story that includes the words ice, sun, fox, ship and fire. Please bold the words, at least the first time you use them. ~ Story. The New Ones. Prompt 2: There's something not right about the place, but you have to go there... ~ Story Prompt 3: Write a poem about the last great feast your favorite GoT characters will have together. Any form except free verse - specify at the end of the poem. ~ Poetry. 4th place. Prompt 4: Take a quote (funny, inspirational, insightful... it's up to you) and turn it into a poem. Please include the quote and who it's by at the bottom of your item. ~ Poetry Week 4: 2017 Prompt 1: Use the following piece of dialogue in your story: "Stuff your morals. We're the good guys." Please bold it to make it easier for the judges to spot. ~ Story Prompt 2: You're on your first date with someone and it's astonishing how compatible you are! There's just one problem... as the evening progresses, you're increasingly convinced that they're an alien. Now what? ~ Story. 5th Place. Prompt 3: You've done all manner of heroic deeds this month. Unfortunately, nobody's bothered to write you an ode. The meanies! This is your opportunity to brag share your achievements with the world. ~ Poetry Prompt 4: Pick a band or solo artist. Write a poem that includes 3 - 5 song titles by said band/artist. Please bold the song titles. Underneath your poem, please state which band/artist they're by. ~ Poetry Week 3: 2017 Prompt 1: Pink, fluffy unicorns are apparently very popular. But what about unicorns who aren't pink? And who don't have a fluffy personality at all... ~ Story. 5th Place. Prompt 2: Write a story in the Romance genre, set in the Game of Thrones world. You do not have to use existing characters, but you can. Give it a happy ending. ~ Story Prompt 3: Why is friendship so important? Show us in a poem. ~ Poetry Prompt 4: What does music mean to you? ~ Poetry Week 2: 2017: Prompt 1: You've been researching your family tree, and discovered that one of your ancestors is not what they seemed - for better or worse.
