How long have you lived in Beijing and Los Angeles? Are there better choices? There are China Towns everywhere. I think of two I've visited: Toronto and Lima. Ancient books are portable; ancient knowledge even more so.

Regardless, can you make the setting detailed enough so that it feels authentic?

Just thoughts.

Will China come to Wolf? Is the riddle worth solving? Is LA worth saving? Are the monsters the true heroes?

Just being contrary but turning things on their heads can be helpful.

The idea that old myths can be relived in modern times is so ... Chinese! Or Korean. Gumiho = nine-tailed fox. This kdrama is highly rated (8.4):

"My roommate is a fairy fox" isn't as well done, but... it made me watch BL genre drama:

You'll find the opening similar to what you describe in that history and reality meet. It's worth watching if you have the time. The music is a bit of an earworm, just so you know.

That is a great pic! But I have a question about his weakness. Is he too "thrusting" or too "trusting"? I mean, there's a little bit of a difference.

NaNoWriMo PREP Challenge 2019

Yoohoo, I’ve finally signed up for "October Novel Prep Challenge"

[13+]. I want to write this big and important novel but I still don’t have a clue. I can start doing "The veil of death"

[13+] or "Pygmalion, a serial killer's weblog"

[18+] or try something completely different. Anyway, still more than 3 weeks to ponder on the question of what to do. Fantasy, thriller or something else entirely!

Then, the whole month of October will be prepping my novel. I have no intention of entering NaNoWriMo because I am not ready for that huge challenge. But preparing for the write seems an excellent idea. This blog will be an account of the exercises. They are still under copyright, so no worries there. A minimum of 15 minutes per day for the exercise is doable.

I am very thrilled to participate and get this writing project going. Oh, and I am still thinking about 100 poems for publication, but that’s a long term project! 1,2,3 GO!
